Aims and scope

Created in 1982, the journal Revista CIDOB d’afers internacionals is a four-monthly cultural/academic publication on international relations and development. Pioneer in the Spanish-speaking sphere, it offers the reader an in-depth analysis of the international issues from different points of view and perspectives, combining information and analysis. The journal is addressed to the academic and scientific community, as well as to the interested and/or involved audience in general: political, economic and social actors, from civil society and NGO, from the business sector, etc. It is published in printed and digital format.

Periodicity

The magazine has a quadrimestral periodicity. Three issues are published a year: in April, September and December, covering the publication periods January-April, May-September and October-December, respectively.

Open access policy

The journal Revista CIDOB d’Afers Internacionals is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful non-commercial purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided the author and the journal are properly credited. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

This journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs) or submission charges.

Good practices in gender equality

Revista CIDOB d'Afers Internacionals implements a policy of good practices in gender equality that affects different aspects of the editorial process, in order to contribute to equality between men and women.

1- Gender balance in the editorial team and processes

The journal ensures gender balance in the composition of its main editorial bodies and, in particular, in the Editorial Board and the journal's staff.

It also promotes gender balance in the rest of the editorial processes, i.e.: in peer review (team of reviewers), in the scientific coordination of each issue and among the authors of the articles.

2- Inclusive language

As indicated in the instructions to authors, the journal recommends the use of inclusive language in the writing of the article. This will be taken into account in the editing phase. 3- Gender balance in research

The journal reports on whether the source data of the research takes gender into account, in order to allow the identification of possible differences.
