Governmental legitimacy and citizen mobilisation: Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco

This paper focusses its attention on the social campaigns opposing and defending governmental legitimacy that took place in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco in 2013, as well as their short-term effects. In order to explain the similarities and differences between the three scenarios, a comparative analysis is made of the organisational attributes and the contextual conditioning of these anti-government and pro-government social movements.
