Malaiz Daud

He is a political analyst with an M.A. in Post-War Recovery from the University of York. A Chevening and OSI scholar and a Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) fellow, he has worked for both governmental agencies and NGOs. He was one of the organizers of Afghanistan’s Constitutional Loya Jirga in 2004 and the Kabul Conference in 2010. Malaiz has also headed Afghan Development Association (ADA) and Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Afghanistan. He is a founding member of the Afghan Youth Foundation for Unity (AYFUn) and Young Leaders Forum (YLF). Malaiz has provided consultancy services to the Post-War Reconstruction and Development Unit (PRDU) of the University of York, Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) and CIDOB (Barcelona Center for International Affairs), amongst others. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Peace Training and Research Organization (PTRO) and was previously an elected member of the Steering Committee of Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR) and a member of Board of Directors of Human Rights Research and Advocacy Consortium (HRRAC) and Afghan Civil Society Forum (ACSF). Mr. Daud’s main research theme is political leadership. He is the author of the STAP RP Quarterly Monitoring Briefs on Afghanistan (2013), and a paper for the STAP RP on the country’s political landscape (2014).
