Josep Mª Lloveras Soler

Josep Mª Lloveras has a PhD in Monetary and Banking Economics from the University of Paris-1 (Panteón-Sorbonne), a Master of Science from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University (USA) and a Bachelor of Business Sciences and MBA from ESADE, Barcelona. He attended the International Teacher's Program at the London Business School and has been an EU Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence.

Ambassador of the European Union to the Central African Republic, Serbia and Montenegro. He has held various technical and managerial positions at the European Commission, relating to the enlargement towards central and eastern Europe, in economic, political and diplomatic matters. He was a Counselor in the Directorate General for Trade and a member of the Task Force for Greece during its financial rescue.

He was General Director of the Spanish subsidiary of a financial consulting firm, working for international organizations and private clients in banking, finance and privatization in transition economies of Europe, Africa and Latin America. Previously, he held management positions in international banking in London, Paris, New York and Barcelona. He was the Financial Director of a Japanese industrial joint venture in Barcelona.

In the academic field, he developed his first activity in the field of management at ESADE (Barcelona) and EOI (Madrid). He has recently been a professor of European affairs at IBEI / UPF.
