“What’s going on in the world?” Trump: 100 days of imperial rule and geopolitical disruption
Donald Trump’s return to power has accelerated global geopolitical competition and the democratic erosion of a deeply divided United States. The presidential rhetoric has impacted the geopolitical order and deepened the weakening of international law. In this context, CIDOB and ideograma organise this dialogue in the frame of the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency.

CIDOB and ideograma
Donald Trump’s return to power has accelerated global geopolitical competition and the democratic erosion of a deeply divided United States. The presidential rhetoric—marked by political fireworks, expansionism, constitutional challenges, and trade coercion—has impacted the geopolitical order and deepened the weakening of international law. We are witnessing a reconfiguration of public and private power, a display of narcissism and authoritarian temptations, and a political agenda that fuels the international far-right.
To mark the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency, CIDOB and ideograma are organising this discussion with Carme Colomina, Senior Research Fellow at CIDOB; Xavier Peytibi, communication consultant at ideograma; and Máriam Martínez-Bascuñán, Professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). The event will be introduced by Santiago Castelo, Deputy Director of ideograma, and moderated by Pol Morillas, Director of CIDOB.
The session will be streamed live on CIDOB’s YouTube channel.
