“What is going on in the world?” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: war in Europe

Carmen Claudín, senior associate researcher at CIDOB, Félix Flores, international reporter for La Vanguardia and Bohdan Nahaylo, interim director at the Kyiv Post will analyse the causes and precedents of the Kremlin’s military aggression against Ukraine, as well as its consequences for the future of the country, European security, and the international order.

Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine does not only represent a flagrant violation of human rights, international law, and Ukrainian sovereignty, but also an unprecedented threat to the contemporary European and international security order. This session will analyse the causes and precedents of the Kremlin’s military aggression against Ukraine, as well as its consequences for the future of the country, European security, and the international order. The debate will count on the participation of Carmen Claudín, senior associate researcher at CIDOB, Félix Flores, international reporter for La Vanguardia, and Bohdan Nahaylo, chief editor at the Kyiv Post, and will be introduced by Pol Morillas, director of CIDOB.

The event will be held in English and Spanish with simultaneous translation and will be streamed live at CIDOB’s YouTube channel.
