The Santander–CIDOB Future Leaders Forum is a collaboration programme between Banco Santander and CIDOB that aims to identify and promote dialogue between future global leaders from different social and economic fields that will shape the international agenda.
In this fifth edition, this programme seeks to build upon the results of the previous four years to share debates and reflections on global techno-politics, algorithmic governance, strategic digital autonomy, international digital cooperation and the regulation of new technologies and to ponder the technological advances of recent years and their governance, with an emphasis on the role of the European Union and its digital policy.
For the first time, the fifth edition of the Santander-CIDOB Future Leaders Forum will be held in person in Barcelona. Members of the four Santander-CIDOB 35 under 35 Lists, which have recognised the work of 140 young people who are working as leaders in different fields of action related to new technologies (public decision-makers, private sector, third sector activists, the media, intellectuals and academics) are invited to participate. The Santander-CIDOB Future Leaders Forum will consist of a discussion session in speed-debating format dedicated to gathering the reflections, ideas and political proposals of these future leaders in four key areas: the regulation of emerging technologies, the technological and innovation capacities of the European Union, the fight against disinformation and European digital sovereignty in a context of increasing geopolitical competition.
